Welcome to Movie Times

What you’ll find here

Here’s a glimpse at the kind of content you’ll find on Movie Times…

I write about movies in several ongoing series.

Each focused on a different kind of film, era, or way of watching (theaters, streaming, physical media).

Most posts follow a similar format, but each series lets me zoom in on specific themes and makes it easier for you to cut to what you’re most interested in.

Here are the series I plan to publish regularly (with more likely to come):

• Now Playing – Initial reactions to new movies hitting theaters. No spoilers, just my major takeaways and an answer to the essential question: how quick should I get my ass to the theater?

• 90 from the 90s – Series exploring overlooked or underrated flicks from one of the great movie decades.

• Modern Classics – Films released post-2000 that already have a place in the pantheon (says me).

• Get Physical – Exploring physical media releases in 4K, from packaging to extras to the movies themselves.

• Lists – Movie compilations and recommendations centered around a theme, individual (writer, director, actor), etc.

• Festival Focus – Spotlighting movies from various film festivals (aiming to grow and expand this coverage over time).

You’ll get a new post every week.

With a couple additional bonus posts here and there.

My newsletter goes out to subscribers every Tuesday.

Enjoy!
